Michel Alarcon: Director, President and Chief Executive Officer
Michel is a visionary entrepreneur with a versatile domestic and international career spanning over 30 years in a variety of industry sectors including government, aeronautics, financial services, health care, and manufacturing. Michel has been focused over the last five years on building strategic alliances with industry “best of breed” leaders in the alternative energy and sustainability domains in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. This has enabled IGES Canada to establish its presence and credibility in these markets as a reliable integrator of proven technologies.



John Johnson: Director, Senior Vice-President, Operations
John has been involved in managing and renovating major buildings, first as VP Planning and Facilities of a 660,000 sq. ft. hospital that was converted under his leadership from an inpatient to an outpatient facility at a cost of approximately $70 M.  John was also the Director of Facilities for the City of Kingston with 151 buildings in his portfolio.  Throughout his work at the hospital and the City, sustainability and accessibility were always front and centre in his planning process. John was most recently the first Executive Director of Sustainable Kingston, a non-profit organization to achieve Kingston’s vision of becoming Canada's Most Sustainable City.


Steven Moore: Director, Vice-President, Communications
Steven has developed communications tools and strategies for corporate clients over three decades, including most of Canada’s major banks and many of its major retailers. Now, he works exclusively with organizations that promote sustainability. He is author of over 90 publications and four columns in popular publications on energy and sustainable living and has run an off-the-grid organic farm on solar power. He teaches Sustainability, Environmental Policy, and Ecological Economics at Queen’s University and internationally in the U.K. and Costa Rica. He designed and built an earth-sheltered home as a sustainability test site where he lives as a producer of 20 kW of solar PV energy.



 Brian Heinz: Director, Vice-President, Supply Chain Management

Brian has over 20 years of experience in procurement, contract negotiations, and supplier management in the aeronautics industry. This allows him to excel in sourcing, and in driving on-time delivery. His in-depth expertise in purchasing process efficiency and cost management is a tangible asset to our construction-intensive operations.




Denis McGinn: Director, Vice-President, Project Development

Denis brings over 30 years experience in the automotive industry as a licensed journeyman, with over 12 years as founder/operator of his own business, specializing in electrical and computer diagnostics. He can troubleshoot and problem solve in areas ranging from construction to mechanical systems. With skills in HVAC, carpentry, electrical, fabrication/welding, design, customer relations, estimating, procurement, mechanics, plus hydrogen and green energy production.




Philippe Archambault: Vice-President, Business Development
Philippe is a versatile individual who contributes over 20 years of management experience to IGES Canada from various industries including: oil & gas, retail, public services (health care), gaming, transport, and manufacturing. He advises and implements projects both in the United Kingdom and Canada and has earned a Masters of Business Administration at Glamorgan University in Wales, United Kingdom, where he was awarded a Merit for his ground-breaking dissertation on knowledge management in casinos. He has recently held positions in health care and logistics and is very active in many community building programs in the Kingston region.

Ron Bogart: Chief Financial Officer
Ronald J. Bogart has over 20 years of experience as an operational and financial executive and currently holds the position of President and Chief Financial Officer of a number of companies within the Investment Portfolio of the McLaughlin family’s private investment capital corporation, Greenbriar Holdings Limited. Ron is a former partner of Ernst & Young. During his 18-year professional career he has practiced in all areas of compliance and planning for Corporate and Personal Income Taxes, both Canadian and U.S., as well as Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures. He has lectured at CICA Tax Seminars on The Purchase and Sale of a Business and is a Founding Member of the Mississauga High Technology Association.


Al Sprague: Chief Technology Officer
A seasoned professional engineer with strong management experience, Al has provided product/process engineering and application engineering support to industry and holds several process/process equipment patents. His expertise also includes energy conservation engineering and plant management.






Dio Nkurunziza – Vice President African Operations
Dio has gained his reputation in the environmental engineering field for the last 25 years through his commitment to research on fresh water, energy generation, and sustainable food production. Global sustainability has been the major driver of his working experience. He has been involved in the design, testing, and building of various technology applications in Canada, Southern Africa, and South-East Asia to help indigenous communities to obtain cooking fuel, animal feed, organic fertilizer, and renewable electricity.



Dario Echeverry: Vice President- Latin America Operations
Dario has been an independent entrepreneur in the areas of Banking, Engineering, Telecommunications, Energy and Environmental.  He graduated as a civil engineer, specializing in environmental engineering and banking, and started one of the first environmental engineering firms in Colombia providing environmental, engineering and construction services to the oil companies.  He has operated a dozen private engineering firms, including the most reputable Colombian firms in the construction of water treatment plants, swimming pools, spas and waste water plants. With his family group, Dario directed the acquisition of Banco de Colombia, the largest Colombian bank. He was the President and CEO of Inmobiliaria Banco S.A. the largest construction firm in Colombia and co-directed Fiducolombia S.A., the largest Colombian trust corporation. Dario has lived in the USA for 15 years and successfully started a telecom company that went public in 2001. In parallel, he has dedicated his past 10 years to continue with the development of blue/alternative energy projects and technologies.

Dr. James Oni: Specialist, Oil and Gas
Dr. Oni is a project/business leader with 25 years of experience in the direction of corporate teams and turn-key projects in IT infrastructure/applications, telecommunications, EPIC programs and ERP (SAP). James was a member of IT Management for a major oil company for over 15 years developing IT business strategies and managing operational projects. James is a visionary strategic planner who works to the highest quality and safety standards globally. His credentials include a PhD in Information Technology, MIET, CEng PMP, ACMP, Prosci (ADKAR) Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Certified
Buck Tibbitt: Chief Education Officer
Buck has been an independent craftsman for the past 25 years focused on industrial woodworking (cabinetmaking). He has direct experience working with First Nations and Inuit communities in Arctic Bay for a private contractor building public housing. He was also involved in developing curriculum for the Nunavut Arctic College (NAC) and teaching pre-trades and trades courses in Igloolik and Baker Lake, NU. His approach to teaching is student centered, culturally sensitive, and hands-on. His interests include young mules, old dogs, George Jones, Frank Zappa, and scientific explanations of the world we live in.

George Knight: Chief Technology Officer
George is a certified professional instructor with qualifications in several trades in the service, manufacturing, and transportation sectors. He has been involved with the design of both software and hardware in fiber optic-based motion control system applications and in prototyping Stirling engines. His focus is on sustainable green technologies.

Terence Moore: Director, Engineering Advisor
Terry is a tech-savvy young, dynamic professional engineer with strong manufacturing expertise and quality management training. He has 10 years of process design and integration experience in large manufacturing environments. He has recently been appointed to our Board of Directors where his technical expertise will help guide our firm’s direction.

Jeremiah Point – Engineering Advisor
Jeremiah is a licensed Professional Engineer from the Professional Engineers of Ontario, a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional through the CaGBC (Canadian Green Building Council), and a Certified Commissioning Professional through the BCxA (Building Commissioning Association). He provides design, review, inspection, and reporting of HVAC, plumbing, boilers, fuel storage, and fire protection systems as well as site condition investigations, reporting, and recommendations.
